Wind River Environmental Makes First Investment in Orlando, FL

December 2, 2019

Marlborough, MA, and Orlando, FL – December 2, 2019

Wind River Environmental (“Wind River Environmental”), the nation’s leading provider of non-hazardous liquid waste solutions, announced today that it has acquired Select Processing of Orlando (“Select”) in Orlando, Florida.

Located in Orlando, Florida, Select is a 3 acre, fully permitted facility that processes and disposes of septic, lift station, and grease trap waste in an environmentally responsible manner.

Select owner, Steven Macchio, commented, “Our core business in Long Island has expanded considerably over the last few years, and my family is devoting most of our time in that region.”  He added, “I’m pleased to transition this Orlando facility to Wind River Environmental, a high quality, professionally-run business.”

David Parry, CEO of Wind River Environmental, said, “Select is our first of several planned acquisitions and partnerships in the central Florida market.”  He continued, “We have enormous respect for the Macchio family and what they have accomplished.  Owning Select’s disposal capabilities will provide an important bridge to connect our three recently-acquired Fort Myers’ businesses with our established Gainesville and Jacksonville operations.”

About Wind River Environmental

Headquartered in Marlborough, Massachusetts, Wind River Environmental is a leading “super-regional” environmental services company.  Wind River Environmental and its affiliates service and maintain a broad array of non-hazardous liquid waste systems, including grease traps, septic tanks and related waste systems for a wide range of commercial, residential and municipal customers.  The company has a “vertical integration” model that handles all aspects of liquid waste streams ranging from collection and hauling though processing, treatment and disposal.  Backed by Gryphon Investors, a multi-billion-dollar private equity fund based in San Francisco, Wind River Environmental is the largest and most successful consolidator in this highly fragmented and growing market.  For more information, please visit www.wrenvironmental.com.
