Why Choose Wind River Environmental?
You need a provider who knows car wash systems, shows up reliably, and handles the paperwork.
Here's what that looks like with us:
- We Know Car Wash Systems. Pit troughs, external reclaim tanks, conveyor drainage, and in-bay systems each have different cleaning requirements. We've serviced all of them, across all major car wash formats, throughout the East Coast.
- We Show Up When We Say We Will. You won't be waiting days for a callback or a vague arrival window. We schedule promptly and arrive on time.
- We Handle Regulatory Compliance for You. Car wash wastewater is subject to state environmental regulations that vary by location. We know those regulations, properly document every service, and dispose of all waste at licensed facilities. You'll get paperwork and stay compliant.
- We Flag Problems Before They Get Expensive. Our technicians understand how reclaim and drainage systems work. If something looks off during a cleaning, we tell you before it turns into a repair bill.
- 70+ Years of Wastewater Experience. We've served commercial and industrial wastewater systems since the 1950s. We have the equipment, the trained crews, and the operational track record to back it up.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I schedule a car wash pit cleaning service?
Cleaning frequency depends on your location and the volume of cars washed.
If you're in the Northeast, we recommend quarterly services due to all the sand and salt from harsh winters. Other regions might benefit from semi-annual to annual cleaning.
If you run a “high-volume” car wash, your pits should be cleaned every 3-6 months. If you run a “low-moderate-volume” car wash, you can probably settle for having your pits cleaned once a year.
What happens if I don't have my car wash pit regularly cleaned?
Hear From Our Happy Customers
-
“The technician was very helpful and gave me several ‘pointers’ about what we could do to help get the most out of our septic system.”- Stephen F.

John Gilles performed our septic pump on 10/10/25. After the pump was completed, he asked me to flush each toilet a few times to make sure things were looking good. He also gave me advice on how to tell the tank is full and to prevent issues, since we should have had it pumped sooner than we did. He did a great job putting the dirt back afterwards since he had to dig to get to the tank. He was funny too! Great service, would be glad to have him again. By the way, the new online ordering system is much better. I'm glad it pulls details in from past orders now so I no longer have to re-enter them manually. Much quicker, thank you for that improvement!- Alicia Lacroix

I spoke to the technician who pumped my tank Steve S and he was very personable and knowledgeable. My wife was watching Steve S cover hole that he dug up to pump my septic tank, and said that person really takes pride in his work because of the care he took to make it look natural again. I went out and told Steve my wifes comments because people seem to only hear the bad comments.- randy l
