Why Cast Iron Pipes Need Descaling & Rehabilitation
Cast iron was widely used for sewer and drain systems because of its strength and durability. However, decades of exposure to wastewater, moisture, minerals, and corrosive conditions can cause the inside of the pipe to deteriorate.
One of the most common problems is internal scaling. As cast iron corrodes, material can build up along the inside walls of the pipe. This gradually reduces the usable diameter of the line, restricting flow and creating rough surfaces where grease, debris, and other materials can collect.

Our Cast Iron Pipelining Process
Step 1: Sewer Video Inspection
We begin with a CCTV inspection to evaluate the cast iron pipe and document its condition. We look for scale, corrosion, cracks, roots, holes, joint problems, and other restrictions.
Step 2: Descaling & Cleaning
If internal buildup is preventing an accurate assessment or restricting flow, we clean and descale the line. This prepares the pipe for rehabilitation and gives us a clearer view of the underlying pipe structure.
Step 3: Rehabilitation Plan
