Wind River Environmental Further Expands Coverage in the New York Market with the Acquisition of Mahopac Septic, Inc.

Marlborough, MA and Mahopac, NY – August 5, 2019 –

Wind River Environmental (“Wind River”), the nation’s leading provider of non-hazardous liquid environmental waste solutions, announced today that it has acquired Mahopac Septic, Inc. (“Mahopac”) in Mahopac, New York.

Mahopac, a family-owned business in operation since 1945, is a full-service provider of septic pumping, grease trap pumping, septic system repair, inspections and drain cleaning services.

Both Joe Mantovi Sr., retiring President of Mahopac, and his son, Joe Mantovi Jr., said, “This is a great outcome for our family. We have known the Wind River team for many years, and we are excited to place our long-time customers and employees in such capable hands.”  David Parry, CEO of Wind River, comments, “The Mantovis have built a great company with a strong reputation in their market.” He added, “Mahopac will supplement Wind River’s strong existing presence in southern New York and allow us to service both our commercial and residential customers more efficiently in that important region.”

Headquartered in Marlborough, Massachusetts, Wind River Environmental is a leading “super-regional” environmental services company. Wind River and its affiliates service and maintain a broad array of non-hazardous liquid waste systems, including grease traps, septic tanks and related waste systems for a wide range of commercial, residential and municipal customers. The company has a “vertical integration” model that handles all aspects of liquid waste streams ranging from collection and hauling though processing, treatment and disposal. Backed by Gryphon Investors, a multi-billion-dollar private equity fund based in San Francisco, Wind River is the largest and most successful consolidator in this highly fragmented and growing market.
