Grease Removal for your Business

May 15, 2018

Most commercial kitchens have a grease trap, also known as a grease interceptor. The grease trap comes after the three bay sink to help catch grease before it can make its way into the plumbing. If you have a grease trap in your commercial kitchen, you will have to arrange for a grease removal service regularly to remain compliant with local regulations and to prevent costly repairs or backups. Wind River Environmental technicians are experts in grease removal services as well as grease trap repairs and grease trap replacements! It’s easy to schedule a grease trap service with Wind River Environmental!

What our Service Entails…

During our grease trap service, we perform a 14-point inspection of the grease trap and components to ensure that everything is working (and flowing) properly. Our 14-point inspection includes:

  • Inspect cover
  • Inspect gaskets
  • Inspect bolts
  • Inspect rods
  • Inspect baffle
  • Inspect baskets
  • Inspect for rust
  • Check flow of trap
  • Check for leaks
  • Advise when Drain Cleaning Services are needed
  • Inspect strainers
  • Inspect screens
  • Advise if frequency of maintenance should be changed
  • Compile a complete condition report on every visit

It is important that we inspect each component to properly service and inform our customer of any necessary follow up actions that may be needed. For example, if the grease trap is flowing slowly that could be an indication of a grease clog in the pipes. At that time, our technician would recommend drain cleaning services to our customer before the issue becomes worse. A clog in the line can create a backup into the grease trap, and eventually into the three bay sink. Nothing is worse than a busy restaurant unable to wash dishes during dinner time!

Not sure if your grease trap needs servicing or how often you should have it serviced? We offer automatic service frequencies that help take the guess work out of when you are due for service. Wind River Environmental makes it easy for you! Call Wind River Environmental today for more information and to schedule your next service.
