Highgate Center, VT was chartered in 1763 and legend has it the town’s name came from an old toll road in the area, closed by a very high gate. People began saying they were “going to high gate,” although there were no roads in the town when it was named. More likely (though less amusing), the town was named after Highgate, the London suburb.
If there are any gates in the town, high or not, we hope they’ll open for our pump trucks. Call us for service and we will find out.
An interesting fact about Highgate Center, is that there is an egg farm in town that houses 100,000 chickens. The farm wanted to double their operations but neighbors rejected the request.
Though not quite as noisy as 200,000 chickens, we’re sure neighbors would also reject overflowing septic tanks. If it’s been a while since your last septic inspection, or you start seeing brown-ish water start to pool in your backyard (especially then) give us a call for service.
Wind River is an expert for all of your septic needs, from routine inspections to septic pumping, drain cleaning, and emergency problem-solving. Although we should clarify – emergency septic problems – if the 100,000 chickens get loose, you may want to call someone else.
